A day in the life of an Environmental Project Professional at NTH
Assist Project Manager(s) in managing Projects that require financial, technical, and administrative leadership and growing opportunities with new and existing clients.
Preparing reports for environmental due diligence, hazardous materials surveys, and vapor intrusion studies for greenfield and Brownfield sites.
Independently completes project deliverables.
Perform task management responsibilities within deadlines.
Assist with the preparation of technical proposals and financial work plans.
Be a subject matter expert regarding due diligence services and Brownfield funding services.
Effectively manages workload to perform business development and meet project requirements.
Assists in developing proposal scope and budget.
Partners with Project Managers & Project Directors to mitigate client concerns and communicate changes to scope, schedule, and budget.
Cross-selling of NTH suite of services to ensure growth.
Meets with client representatives to assure satisfaction and future growth opportunities.
Serves as a Project Manager in Training under the direct supervision of a Project Manager.
Review reports, provide instruction, and mentorship to junior staff.
What you need to apply
Bachelor's degree from a 4-year accredited college or university in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or Geology or comparable discipline. Masters preferred.
40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred.
5-7+ years of experience completing Phase I/ II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), in accordance with ASTM E1527-21 and ASTM E1903-19.
Experience with completing Baseline Environmental Assessments (BEAs) and Plans for Compliance with Due Care Obligations (formerly Due Care Plans), in accordance with) Part 201 of Michigan’s Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act (Part 201) MCL 324.20101 – 324.20142.
Knowledge of Response Activity Plan (ResAP), Document of Due Care Compliance (DDCC), No Further Action (NFA), and Incremental Sampling Methodologies.
Experience completing underground storage tank removal and closure reports in accordance with Part 213 Michigan ‘s Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act of 451 of 1994 (Part 213) MCL 324.21301 – 324.21334.
Familiarity with vapor intrusion studies, soil-gas investigation, and vapor mitigation system design in accordance with EGLE Guidance Documentation.
Familiarity with Asbestos/Hazardous Materials Surveys for building rehabilitation and demolition projects
At least 3 years of demonstrated leadership experience in mentoring and leading junior staff is required.
Must have strong written and oral communication skills, be able to work in a team environment as well as independently, demonstrated collaborative approach to problem-solving, and have ability to interact with clients to understand their needs.
Exceptional time management and organizational skills, and ability to work on projects for multiple project managers within budgets and timelines.
Must hold a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance and be willing to travel to and conduct field work at job sites as well as NTH offices in Michigan.
May be required to perform job duties in the field and office, during non-standard work hours, as necessary.
Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
